Mercy.

When you sin or fall short be quick to repent, when we sin or make mistakes our souls want to run and hide from God when the very best thing we can do is run and tell him, confess, repent and receive forgiveness.

Think for a moment, as a child, when we did wrong, we made mistakes, we lied to our parents, we hid things from them. Alot of us have stored many stored secrets from our prents that we’ll never tell them. But again think what if we immediately told our parents we made a mistake, we confess to them before they find out. How many times might we have gotten and lighter punishment or no punishment at all if we had done that. How honorable would we have been, that even in our mistakes, we can understand that we dont need to be perfect, we just need to be accountable. That’s what God wants us to do. He wants to know us so deeply in relationship, that he wants you to be able to run to him and be accountable for your mistakes and short comings and still be loved. And what’s so beautiful about our God is that God doesnt hand out punishments, he hands out mercy.

As I reflect on this concept I feel so muvh peace. Peace in knowing that I dont need to be perfect or feel guilt in sin. God is not a God of guilt, he is a God of peace.
